Free membership and account information
Miles Better provides live AI voice coaching for iRacing. A free website membership is required. We process your username, email address, account identifier, password hash and membership status to create your account and provide access. Optional support donations are not required to use the coach. Donation transactions are handled by the payment provider shown at checkout; we retain the membership and transaction information needed to administer that support, but do not store your payment-card details.
If you choose Discord sign-in on the website, Discord supplies the identity information you authorise, including your Discord identifier and email address where provided. Discord's own privacy policy applies to its service. Desktop sign-in sends your credentials over HTTPS to milesbetter.net for verification. The desktop app keeps an expiring session token and account details on your PC so it can check your membership; it does not save your password. Session tokens expire after 30 days. Requests to our website may appear in hosting/security logs with your IP address, request time and browser or application information.
Local live coaching and saved sessions
The app reads simulator telemetry, including the track, car, lap timing, speed, steering, braking and throttle, to generate coaching. AI inference and voice generation run locally on your PC. Driving profiles, reference laps, session summaries, settings and diagnostic logs may be saved in the app's local data folders. Telemetry playback is a testing facility; recording a file is not required for live coaching. Local coaching does not require public sharing.
Optional public lap sharing
Public lap sharing is off by default in the Store release. If you enable it, eligible saved and future best laps can be uploaded to the Miles Better public lap repository. Shared information includes your account username/identifier, driver name, track, car, lap time and lap telemetry. Other people can access, download and reuse publicly shared laps. Do not enable this setting if you do not want that information to be public.
You can switch sharing off to stop future uploads. This does not remove laps already published, including laps uploaded by older versions. Contact us to request removal from the repository we control. We cannot guarantee deletion of copies already downloaded by others.
Optional connected services
If you connect Garage61, the Miles Better website brokers the authorisation flow, and the app stores authorisation tokens locally and uses Garage61's API to retrieve reference laps and track information. Garage61 and the Miles Better authorisation service receive the requests needed to provide that connection. Garage61 has its own privacy policy. You can revoke the app's access through Garage61. Microsoft handles Store downloads, updates and Store-related account information under Microsoft's privacy statement.
Why we process information
We use account and membership information to provide the service you request; operational and security records to protect and maintain the service; donation records to administer transactions and meet applicable accounting obligations; and public lap information with your consent when you enable sharing. We rely on performance of our service agreement, legitimate interests in operating a secure service, applicable legal obligations, and consent respectively. We do not sell personal information or supply it to advertisers. Membership is not consent to marketing.
Recipients, storage and retention
Our website hosting and payment providers process information needed to operate their services. Optional services such as Discord and Garage61 receive information when you use those connections. Publicly shared laps are accessible worldwide. Some service providers operate internationally; contact us for details of the providers and applicable transfer arrangements for your information.
Account information is retained while needed to provide your membership and resolve account issues. Security logs are retained while needed to investigate abuse or technical problems. Donation records are retained for applicable accounting requirements. Public laps remain available until removed; local files remain on your PC until you delete them. On a deletion request we remove information we no longer need, subject to legal record-keeping requirements and backup recovery cycles. Ask us for the retention details that apply to a particular record.
Your choices and rights
You may request access, correction, deletion, restriction, portability, or object to processing where applicable. You may withdraw public-sharing consent at any time; withdrawal does not undo processing that occurred beforehand. We may need to verify your identity before handling an account request. UK users can complain to the Information Commissioner's Office; users elsewhere may contact their local data-protection authority.
AI coaching is advisory and may be inaccurate. It is not used to make decisions with legal or similarly significant effects on you. Miles Better is not intended for children under 13. Contact us if you believe a child has supplied personal information.
Website cookies and policy changes
The website uses session and authentication cookies needed for sign-in and membership. Any optional tracking should be described and offered separately before it is enabled. We will update this policy when our processing changes and communicate significant changes through the website, app or email as appropriate.
